Terms of Service
Welcome to Xiangqi Master: Chinese Chess (the “App”), developed and operated by Azentech (“we”, “us”).
Please read these Terms of Service (the “Terms”) carefully before installing, accessing or using the App. By downloading, installing or using any part of the App, you confirm that you understand and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree with any of them, please stop accessing the App and remove it from your device.
1. Limited license
We grant you a personal, non-commercial, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable license to download and use the App on Android devices and Windows PCs that you own or control, obtained through Google Play or the Microsoft Store.
Without our written consent, you are strictly prohibited from:
- Extracting the source code of, decompiling, reverse engineering or disassembling the App.
- Copying, distributing, reselling, renting, commercializing or creating derivative works based on the App.
- Using automated tools (bots, crawlers, scripts) to access or interfere with the App’s data.
2. User accounts
- Account creation: The App supports an automatic guest mode tied to your device, and lets you link an account via Google (Android and Windows) or Google Play Games Services (Android) to save your progress.
- Security responsibility: You are fully responsible for all activity that takes place under your account.
- Display name (nickname): Your display name must not be offensive to public decency, contain hateful, threatening or insulting content, impersonate other individuals or organizations, or contain sensitive personal information. We may change or remove a violating display name without notice.
3. Fair play and community standards
To keep the environment healthy, when playing online you agree NOT to:
- Use prohibited assistance: Use Xiangqi engines/software, artificial intelligence, external devices, or have someone else play for you in ranked games.
- Cheat the system: Exploit bugs, tamper with network packets, create multiple fake accounts to fix results (ELO boosting) or manipulate the leaderboard.
- Behave inappropriately: Use chat to insult, harass, discriminate by region or race, spam, or post unauthorized advertising.
- Deliberately obstruct play: Stall moves, drag out time unreasonably, or repeatedly leave games abnormally to frustrate opponents.
Consequences: Any of the violations above may result in a warning, ELO deduction, rating reset, suspension or permanent ban of your account without prior notice.
4. ELO ratings and virtual items
- ELO ratings, ranks, titles and other virtual data in the App only record in-game achievements within the App.
- All virtual items/data are not currency and have no cash, physical or any other commercial value.
- We reserve the right to adjust, reset or rebalance ELO ratings and leaderboards during system upgrades, at the start of a new season, or when incidents or cheating affect the accuracy of the data.
5. User-provided content
You retain ownership of your display name and the text messages you send in the App. However, by submitting content, you grant Azentech a royalty-free, worldwide right to display and transmit that content for the purpose of operating the App. We have the right (but not the obligation) to moderate and remove any content that violates these Terms.
6. Intellectual property
All copyrights, trademarks, graphic designs (pieces, board, interface), sound effects, source code, data structures and documentation related to the App are wholly owned by Azentech or our licensors. Using the App does not transfer any intellectual property rights to you.
7. Suspension and termination
- Termination by you: You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it and requesting data deletion as described in the Privacy Policy.
- Termination by us: We may unilaterally suspend or terminate the service or your account access immediately if you violate any of these Terms, or as required by law.
8. Disclaimer of warranties and limitation of liability
- Provided “as is”: The App is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We do not guarantee that the App will be completely error-free or uninterrupted, or that the servers will always run 24/7, due to network issues, technical maintenance or force majeure.
- Limitation of liability: To the maximum extent permitted by law, Azentech is not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss or damage arising from:
- Your inability to access or use the App.
- The conduct, content or language of any other third-party player in the App.
- Disconnections or network interruptions during a game.
9. Changes to these Terms
We may modify or replace these Terms at any time. The latest version will be published in the App with the update date at the top of the page. Your continued access to or use of the App after the changes take effect means you agree to the revised Terms.
10. Governing law and dispute resolution
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. Any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms will first be resolved through good-faith negotiation and conciliation. If no agreement is reached within 30 days, the dispute will be brought before a competent court in Vietnam.
